Ullswater comes into view as I walk from the car park. I didn't park there, I used one of the free spaces a little way down the main road.

After passing the top of Aira Force and having a quick look at the waterfall from above, I continued through the woods, onto the open fellside and began my ascent of Gowbarrow Fell. I'll look at the waterfalls properly towards the end of the walk.

At the top of Gowbarrow Fell. Little Mell Fell is to the left of the trig column. In the distance it seems the sun is shining on Heughscar Hill.

From the top I join the path that runs all the way around Gowbarrow Fell. Eventually, and after getting caught in a few showers, I'll end up not too far from Aira Force.

Place Fell seen from the terrace path.

Looking along Ullswater to Heughscar Hill, Arthur's Pike, Bonscale Pike, Loadpot Hill and Hallin Fell.

From the southern side of Gowbarrow Fell I get this view towards the Glenridding / Patterdale end of Ullswater. Looks like more rain heading my way.

And now to try and get a picture of Aira Force without crowds of people.
