Local Autumn Dog walk

23rd October 2022

It was bucketing down this morning and while the rain ran down the windows I caught up with yesterdays walk report and by mid afternoon I'd completed it.

I checked the forecast which said for the last couple of hours of the day it would turn brighter so that's when I planned todays dog walk.

I wouldn't normally share my local walks but this afternoon turned out so nice I thought you might want to see some lovely Autumn colours before all the leaves fall from the trees.

The Leeds & Liverpool Canal from Moss Bridge, Wigan.
It wasn't as bright as forecast when I left the house but it was a lot milder than I'd anticipated feeling Spring like rather than mid October.

Loving the light.
If your lucky capturing the crisp autumnal light at this time of year is always a treat.

On'tother side of the canal.
Unlike lakeland I can't think of many patches of bracken here in Wigan but there is one which overlooks the canal during the Summer months.

Looking back on Moss Bridge.

Autumn colours.
There's that light again.

Reflections.

"Hey Dad take a picture of me sniffing this grass"
Will do lad.

Narrowboat 'Michaelmas'
During the Summer we get to see lots of narrow boats but as we approach Winter the numbers tend to die down. A few moments after taking this photo I heard the chug chug chug of another narrow boat which moored up in front of this one.

Sunsetting.
Over Scotsmans Flash.

We continue up the tow path.

Brad leading the way.
If you're wondering where Holly is she's feeling a little camera shy and is walking right besides me.

Fantastic colours.

Almost the end of the day.
Well we're almost home now so time for a quick shower and tea. I hope you enjoyed the Autumn colours as much as I did.
